hail on roof with gutters

Chris Will Negotiate Your Homeowner’s Insurance Claim, So You Don’t Have To!

The spring hail storms that battered roofs all over the DFW Metroplex may have you wondering if your roof needs an inspection. After all, hail-damaged roofs can allow rainwater to penetrate the roof and cause water damage in your attic and inside your home. This can lead to costly repairs. So, if you question your roof’s integrity, call Chris with ROI at 682-337-1849.

What to Expect During a Roofing Claim

The ROI Roof Inspection

Your first step should be a call to Chris for a free roof inspection. He’ll thoroughly inspect your shingles, roof penetrations, flashing, gutters, soffits, and attic ventilation. He will also note any damage to your home’s wood, brick, siding, windows and screens, fencing, shutters, and other structures.

If Chris sees enough damage for you to file a claim with your homeowner’s insurance, your next step is to call your insurance to send an inspector out. Chris will provide you with a date of occurrence, and you’ll need this date for your insurance claim. Chris prefers to attend the insurance adjuster’s inspection, but this is not absolutely necessary.

Interior Damage

In some cases, leaks from a damaged roof cause damage to a home’s interior. Watermarks on ceilings, softened sheetrock, and warped trim are sure signs of water damage. ROI is a general contracting company so Chris can include all interior damage in your insurance claim negotiations. ROI can fully restore the interior of your home with your insurance payment or make modern updates, based on your goals and budget.

The Insurance Adjuster’s Inspection

Next, if your insurance adjuster believes you have sufficient damage, he’ll initiate a claim. You’ll receive details by email sometime in the following few weeks. It’s imperative that you send all of the insurance claim emails to Chris so that he can begin negotiations.

Claim Discrepancies Negotiated for Higher Compensation

Chris and ROI’s insurance specialist will let your insurance company know if their estimate neglected to include all the damage Chris found in his inspection. THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE, and it’s a solid reason that you need an experienced roofing company in your corner.

We’ve seen insurance payments increase by tens of thousands of dollars after negotiations. Chris’ pictures and explanation of damages prove to the insurance company that additional compensation is needed to fully restore the home and roof to their pre-storm state.

We Fight for Our Clients

You pay homeowner’s insurance to ensure that when your home is damaged, restoration costs are covered by insurance. You will have to pay your deductible. In fact, it’s a class three felony for a roofer to cover a homeowner’s deductible. After your deductible, you won’t pay a dime more unless you authorize work not covered by your insurance company.

All of the damage caused by a hail event will be covered by your insurance company, not by you. Many homeowners do not know or understand the negotiation process of dealing with insurance. The good news is, you don’t have to understand it because Chris and our insurance specialists do!
